I feel frustrated that I got deferred and then waitlisted by umich. I will schedule to apply for my visa in mid June (I can't schedule it too late in case I get rejected then I have to apply for it again), but the decision of umich will not been made until late June. After my visa is applied, there's no way for me to go to another college 'cause when I apply for visa, I have to hand in an I-20 form sent by the college that I prefer to go to.(ucsd)

I want to get into umich so much and I have been waited for....more than half a year. What am I gonna do? I believe some of you are in the same situation with me right? The problem is that I am an international student...and the visa thing......

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

To be honest I do not think you’re going to be rejected (unless there’s an actual reason). Classes start in September so even if you get notified in June, you still have 2 months to go. I’ve applied for a F-1 before… it’s a little troublesome but should be done within 2 weeks at most.
Personally, I wouldn’t stress myself too much! I wish you good luck! :)

Thank you Zarhor~! I hope I can pass the visa smoothly like you said.
It’s just that too many students from my country are heading for US colleges these years so I am a bit afraid that I could not get a spot if I reserve for it late in July or August.

Again, thanks for your reply :P

May I ask which country you’re from? If it is Europe I am more than sure there won’t be a problem regarding your visa process.
Moreover, I think the embassy is open from Mon through Fri. Packed with tons of people, it sucks up a half day and most of the time you’ll sit around…^^;; However, there’s no reason that you won’t get a “spot” anymore, they don’t have a limited number of F-1 visas. ;)

:)I am from China. So…it’s kinda a struggle.

Thanks for your advice. It really sucks to wait for decisions…

Oh I get it! My counselor just told me that when applying for Visa, I don’t have to tell them which college I am heading for. So~~~It’s not a problem now. Thanks!
