Can't add my discussion section

I recently signed up for a class through Telebears, and there was no subsequent option given to enroll in a discussion. However, on the Online Schedule of Classes there are plenty of discussion sections shown for the class.

How exactly can I enroll in one then if Telebears doesn't let me?

That hasn’t happened to me, where Telebears never gave me the option of signing up for the class. However, be careful with Telebears and discussion sections. Everyone probably already know that, but I’ll say it again that I learned the hard way, lol. I got into the class, even though there was a huge waitlist behind me. I signed up for the wrong section, though, and I tried to switch section while staying IN the lecture. LOL, nope. What happened was that Telebears kicked me out of the lecture and I found myself at the very end of the waitlist.

Does the class have a long waitlist? If it doesn’t, then I guess you might try dropping the class and then signing up for it again, without having to worry about encountering a waitlist like I did. Maybe this time it will allow you to choose a discussion? Or maybe the class is weird in that there aren’t really discussions, even though the schedule says there are? I’m not sure. What class is it, exactly?

MCB 61 with Presti.

Do you want to try adding it (if you can) and see if we end up on the same page here? Haha.

I appreciate your input, though. I am pretty sure there are discussion sections, because my friend is enrolled in one. And there doesn’t seem to be a waitlist. However, there was a waitlist this morning, but when I logged on to Telebears this afternoon I noticed some people dropped, which is why I got in. I just find it odd how I can’t enroll in a discussion section! -_- Haha.

I added the class really quick to see what you were talking about and you’re right. It didn’t ask me to enroll in a discussion, and when the next page appeared that showed all of my classes together, I just say MCB 61 without a discussion. Hmmmmm, that’s weird. Anyone else in CC have this problem?

EDIT: I think it would be a good idea to email your professor or GSI about this problem. It seems to be a mess-up on the part of Telebears, because the schedule does list discussion sections that are available. Generally, I’ve heard that profs. will accommodate you as long as you find space in the discussion, regardless of the size of the class (however that works, lol), so you might want to see ASAP about that. Good luck

Thanks so much for checking!

The infamous Telebears strikes again. Hopefully it’s just some glitch that will be resolved tomorrow. I emailed the prof, so I’m just waiting for his response. Thanks again!
