Can't connect cell phone to ResNet! Help!

I have a Samsung Captivate running android 2.1 and cannot for the life of me get the wifi to work. I tried the manual device registration on info.resnet.ucsb.edu with my phone's MAC address, and it said: "A ResNet administrator will promptly review your request and complete the process for you." And I waited a minute and it still won't load any web pages! (My roommate did this with his xbox like 5 mins ago and his xbox connected almost instantaneously...why would I have to wait?) P.S. I can connect to ResNet-Open on my phone but when I launch the browser it does not go to the device registration page, instead it tries to load my home page (google.com) but gets stuck trying to load it. Is there anywhere I can take my phone for help? Also any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know there’s help with wifi at San Raf, San Nic, and San Catalina but not sure if they work on phones. You can go and try, just ask for help with wifi at front office and they’ll direct you

Well I did it with my playstation 3, laptop, psp and my roommate’s xbox so IDK why it wouldn’t work with my phone!?

Ok now this is really weird. I went to Santa Catalina to visit one of my friends (I live in Santa cruz) and ResNet worked on my phone! Now I recently got back to my dorm and tried the wifi (resnet) from my room and it still won’t load any web pages…*** is going on??
