Hi,

Last year, I attended a 3 week summer program at Brown University and loved it. This summer, seeing as it is the summer before my senior year, I was thinking of attending a different university and taking a class for credit. Because CMU, Cornell and Hopkins are all on my college list that I have developed with my counselor (CMU as a mid-range, Cornell and Hopkins as mid-reaches), I researched their programs. They all look to be great academically, but I'm not sure how similar the classes and social life will be to the way it was for me at the Brown U program.

I'm aware that coursework will be intense, but I adore architecture and am willing to do the work (I'm also aware that I would have to take two classes at Hopkins if I went there; I would take calculus with engineering applications). After all, I will most likely be majoring in Civil Engineering and minoring in Architecture. However, I would like to know what it's like to be at these programs - I've looked all over the internet, and I can't find reviews that tell me how much freedom we have to do our own activities with friends, how good the professors are, how much there is to do, or how strict the rules are; that sort of stuff. I want to be in an academically stimulating environment, but of course I want to have fun too!

Has anyone heard about any of these programs? Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
