Cant decide between Rutgers and NJIT

Hey guys, i got accepted to both Rutgers Newark and NJIT. I went to both campuses and really liked the Rutgers one much more and the environment there. I’m stuck and cant decide on which one to pick because the thing is i dont know what i want to major in and I want to be in a college where, ill be open to more options. I was thinking of maybe going into engineering, but i dont know if i will, or into pharmacy, but i also dont know if i will.Which one of these will i be able to pick from a variety of choices that include engineering? I know Rutgers Newark doesnt have engineering, but it does have a program with New Brunswick for engineering but the commute is too far, any ideas, or comments on what to do.I cant seem to make up my mind on where to go and the deadline is very close.
PS: Both colleges financial aid completely covered the tuition and extra fees.

If the price is the same I would choose Rutgers. You will have plenty of options there.

Both have a good reputations, just depends on what you’re looking for in a university.

I was thinking of going to rutgers but what if I decide to do engineering.

Here’s what I think: you aren’t at all sure what you want to do. So for now, choose the school that you like better overall.

Do well in your classes: they will mostly be introductory type classes that all schools require. Once you begin to know your preferences, start planning how you will accomplish what you want to do. (for ex apply to a specific program or transfer schools)

Engineering and pharmacy are two very demanding majors and I think you should feel a real pull for one or the other in order to do well.

Sometimes you can’t make the perfect decision, but you can make the best decision for now. Your choice for next year is not a lifetime committment. People change majors all the time. Just work hard so that you have the options you want later on.

So what your saying is, lets say i got to Rutgers, i change my major to undecided and take general courses the first year? By then ill have an idea of what i want to do?

I would take courses that would be appropriate for the majors you are interested in. For example, if you might go into pharmacy or engineering you would want to take a different math than one you would take for a business degree. But yes, start out with what you will think you will do and adjust as things become clearer to you.

You say you many want to do pharmacy, but NJIT doesn’t offer that, and you say you can’t commute to NB, so I think you may have to rule out that choice unless you come up with another plan. You would still have to apply and get in. Have you gotten into SOE or pharmacy at Rutgers NB?

I never applied to them, their too far for the commute. Even with a car it’ll take me long.

I don’t really know if I want to do pharmacy or engineering I just put those as examples of majors.

Well then, I think that Rutgers will give you ‘more options’.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP
