Cant decide between SJSU and Sonoma State

I am from Socal and I recently got accepted into both csus.I am having trouble deciding on which one to commit to. For both, I am majoring in pre business. SJSU offered more financial aid than SSU as well as a free early start summer program, meaning I spend all of July at SJSU and can get accustomed to the environment as well as take some classes for free and sign up for my classes early. I am also interested in double majoring as well and am accustomed to a very busy schedule.

I like SJSU because it is in silicon valley and I also have an interest in the hospitality and tourism management program as a minor. However, I am unsure of the student culture at SJSU and would like to have the ‘community feel’ of a university.

I like Sonoma State because I have met several people that graduated from there and they really liked the environment of the campus. I also have a lot of interest in the dorms and outdoor life.

I have a lot of interest in joining clubs/ playing sports and I really love the outdoors. I also enjoy drawing and writing immensely.

I would love to hear everyone’s opinions about the universities, mostly about the student culture and what makes each school unique.

I say go for SJSU.
It has a better reputation for your major(s), as well as more culture. Internships will be considerably easier given the proximity of Silicon Valley. It also has a more tradition quad-style campus and more dorm opportunities.
SSU is a nice, albeit small with a surprisingly rural feel. Because it’s smaller, with limited dorms, it tends to draw more commuters than SJSU, so your community and social options will also be smaller.

Have you looked at the course requirements in your major for both schools?
Any significant differences? Are there concentrations available within business that appeal to you?

Have you visited?
If not, it would be a really good idea/investment to visit both – prior to committing to four years.
During your visit, you’ll get a good feel for the campuses.
You can visit both fairly easily, as there’s only about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive between them.

Good luck.
