I'm new here to CC, so bear with me!

Sooooo... I'm definitely thinking about applying to Stanford, and submitting an Art supplement.
However, I'm in a little bit of a pickle - I can't decide what KIND of art I should submit.

I'm a self-taught artist, who has never had any formal training, and has never taken an art class at her high school. However, I have cultivated my art skills on my own time (I prefer graphite, charcoal, and acrylic as my mediums). I have also entered several regional art competitions, and have won gold medals in the past. I know I COULD submit a portfolio of my artwork, but I'm just concerned that the university of my choice might think that I only do art as a hobby, and that I don't have enough recognition/formal training.

Not only am I an artist, I also became immersed in theatre when I arrived at my high school. I took a freshman acting class (not UC approved), Acting I (UC approved), and was in the school play my sophomore year. I opted not to take Acting II and take Humanities instead, which is basically a class for my school's Academic Decathlon team. I won a good number of medals at the competition too. Nevertheless, I did not neglect my love for theatre, and auditioned for the school play again this year (my junior year). I got a call-back and was casted, but I had to quit because the rehearsal schedule conflicted with my volunteer schedule at my local hospital (I have no idea how I'm going to explain this little anecdote on my college app). I'm also planning on doing some community theatre work, taking a couple musical theatre classes, and maybe even starting an art therapy program in my community.

Also... I'm not sure if I'm going to take Acting III next year (although my drama teacher is strongly encouraging me to take it!), because I would like to take another AP science course (on top of AP Physics), and I can only take 1 elective course. Also... I don't know how to go about getting "regional, state, or national" recognition for theatre. Any suggestions?????

The bottom line is: I don't know what to submit for an art supplement. Should I do the portfolio of drawings and paintings, or go ahead and audition?

But honestly - I do NOT (I repeat... DO NOT NOT NOT) want to MAJOR in theatre OR art!!!! I have a strong ambition to go into the medical field, and I want to major in Biology, and maybe minor in something in Humanities. Which leads me to have some reluctance about auditioning. Is it possible to major in Biology and minor in Theatre?

Of course, I realize the art supplement isn't the most important facet of my application. But I firmly believe that a strong Art supplement would greatly boost the appeal of my application as a whole... so any help is greatly appreciated!!!
