Hi, everyone. I was accepted to
UW, Seattle
U Miami
American University
UCIrvine
Drexel University
U Mass.
SUNY Binghamton
and others.

I am planning on being international relations and affairs.
I think that I have narrowed it down to University of Miami, American University, and University of Washington. I know that AU has strong international studies major, but UM and UW also have good programs.
All of them are affordable without aid, but UW is 28k, while UM and AU is both 39k.
I am Asian, but went to US high school for 4years.

I know it's my decision but I need some help to figure out which one would be the best.
I just want to know pros and cons for that colleges and areas.
Where would you go if you were me? Why?

Thanks for any input!!

What would you do with the 40k you’d save by attending UW? Travel? Complete a couple of unpaid internships? Pay for a year of grad school? Buy a nice car?

Think that through. You may find that you really prefer four years in Miami or DC after all, and that would be OK too.

Thank you, happymomof1. That is something to think about :)

Seattle is a VERY Asian friendly community with a lot of heritage and celebrations as well as international community events - UW has numerous student groups that may offer some comfort and familiarity.

Miami has a HUGE Cuban population, thus that international community understandably offers more of a latin flavor…

AU offers a challenge and adventure but honestly so do your other choices.

If you were simply choosing based up the best fit, UW is a clear winner - take the savings and visit family or have them visit you or then again you can simply save it to apply to your continuing education down the road…

good luck :)

Thank you, I will probably go UW… :)

bump; any more advice?

UMiami has a great international affairs program, but I would not recommend it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s just the school has a hardcore party culture, which will probably affect your academic progress.
