Provide more info. Cost? Have you visited? What are your thoughts about them? Also PSU = Penn State or ?

Indiana is a beautiful and extremely well-run school. I’d go there.

cost is a non issue. and yes PSU is penn state university park.

They are so similar I’m having trouble seeing the main differences between them

If cost isn’t an issue, why is Arizona even being considered? It’s a nice school, but PSU and Indiana are better. What is your major?

Contrary to the previous post, UofA should still be considered. But then again it depends on your major/ideal living situation.

Penn State. Two of my cousins go there and I am going to apply there. It’s amazing, trust me turning down Penn State will be your worst decision :).

Depending on your major, IU could be the best choice- business, music, journalism…
It IS a well-run school with friendly people in a great college town-

I agree with mom2colllegekids, Arizona is not in the same league academically as PSU or Indiana. I think it is about where you feel most comfortable between the two.

i want to major in either sports broadcasting or sports management. thanks for all the help guys!

IU has a good sports management program. I remember doing a paper on women in sports management and had a few quotes from IU professors. Tough choice. I have to go with IU on this one even though they are Purdue’s rival. PSU is nice and all but IU has a great campus and people in Indiana are very friendly. It’s a different environment but it’s very nice.

Go where you want to live and work.

thanks guys! im probably leaning towards psu or iu.

what are some differences between them besides location and campus?

they are fairly different, which specifc things are you trying to compare?

Midwesterners are nicer. :)

Except there was that article in the WSJ a couple of years ago about how so many NYers are now choosing IU.

My daughter is torn night now between Penn State and Northwestern. She was all Northwestern until we visited Penn this past weekend. She fell in love with it. She got accepted into the Scheyers Honors College at PSU and I think that is putting her over the top. Big school but small honors college gives best of both worlds. We do one last final visit to Northwestern next Monday and hopefully she’ll make the final decision after. She has also been accepted to Univ of Florida, Univ of Illinois and St Louis Univ but none of them made her cut.

i cant get into the honors college.

I’m mainly looking for the differences in life at IU vs. PSY; mainly social but acidemic would be helpful too.

Neither are very diverse. Both are very frat oriented but PSU more than IU. I would probably opt for IU because it is not very far from other midwestern cities/campuses. Whereas, PSU is a bit more on the fringe of Big 10 country.

thank you!

How would you compare the student body at each school?

i think they are pretty comperable, im not sure of any real specific differences, although true i dont go to a big 10 school.
