Can't decide- UNCW, GSU, USC, MSU, Tenn

Hey, so I am having difficulty deciding on a school. I currently am at a rigorous tiny private school, but it is just so not for me. I am looking to leave and go to one of the following: University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Georgia Southern University, University of South Carolina, Mississippi State, or University of Tennessee.

I just want a larger atmosphere. I enjoy football, but in UNCW's case it would not be a big deal to me. I like its location but don't know much about it at all. The other schools I know some and there are both positives and negatives, but I just wanted to ask other opinions... reputation wise when you first hear the name along with just anything youve heard from people who go there.... I know I will have to decide based on my interests and what suits me .. but anything will be helpful

Thanks! (oh and I'm most likely an Anthropology or Environmental Studies major)

I can only speak to UNCW because we toured there. Campus is very nice but does not have a “big school” feel at all. My kid wants to go to a big school (loved UGA) and thought the overall impression at UNCW was that it was small. Not sure where you are from but everyone on the tour (except us) was from NC.

UNCW has a very good Marine Biology program, so if your Environmental Studies interest leans in that direction, you might consider it. I don’t know about Anthropology. UNCW has a nice campus – flat but fairly attractive. Lots of students go there because they want to be near the beach, but its profile (like that of most of the UNC schools) has risen a lot in the past few years.
