can't decide :[

Hi guys. Basically, I just need a lot of help. I was accepted at Canisius, U of Rochester, Ithaca, and American U...waitlisted at Cornell, SUNY Geneseo, and Syracuse...still waiting on University of Michigan, but not really expecting good news.

I intend to major in communications or journalism and am very interested in it, but wouldn't be suprised if my undergrad experience took me in a completely different direction. I don't really have a first choice at all. Of the ones I was accepted to, my "favorite" is rochester, but it would be 42000 for me to attend- and if I stick to journalism, I would probably need to go to grad school afterwards. I think I would be happy at Syracuse, but I can't bank on getting in, and I'm not even sure I would attend if I did. I don't want to go to Canisius, because I am from Buffalo and so many people go there from my high school, I think American is too far, and I am just eh about Ithaca.

Any advice?
Anything would be really appreciated.

syracuse.. write them a moving letter about how much you want to be an orangeman/woman

thanks! i am in the process of writing a letter of continued interest, and sending some of my articles in.

anyone else?

Rochester is best of the bunch academically. American has a pretty decent communications school and its location in DC means you can have really meaningful intership or part-time job opportunites. Lots of media in DC.

If you major in journalism as an undergraduate--a masters is not necessarily required (or even desirable for a first job because they can hire you for less and, in today's internet age, that is a significant consideration).
