I was trying to enroll in CS188, but it says:

Students with a major of Computer Science or Engineering - Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences or Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and Students with a class level of Senior (Full)

^I'm actually going to be a junior this fall but I've had senior status since the end of my freshman year, but this is the first time that this has ever been an issue. I've notice this restriction in some of the other CS classes too and it seems like an absurd restriction.

I've email the teacher but have received no response. So I phased 1 EE120 and EE126, but I hoped to phase 2 either this class and/or CS170, but will I be able to enroll in it then or will this stupid restriction block me again?

and yeah, that seems really weird, lol. senior status should help you, not work against you. i would definitely email people in the eecs department too that are responsible for settin the course restrictions.

i once emailed a prof for a class that had an enrollment restriction not consistent with the course desc and was able to get the CEC to get in

id assume you would get blocked again if you or someone else doesnt resolve the enrollment restriction by then

Yeah the open seating is open, but when try to enroll it says the message I pasted above. And basically all the “senior” things are full for almost every CS class, and like 300+ kids are waitlisted while only like 60 kids are enrolled. My phase two does happen until July 13, this was way back when I was phase 1-ing a few weeks after my phase 1 day. I don’t care about CS188 anymore, but I really do want to get into CS170, since I want that algorithm background before taking any other upper div CS class…This has never happened to me before…
