Can't explain Game Day

Thought some of you might enjoy my D’s tweets and FB posts during the game yesterday. She is a freshman who has a rabid love of football…

Being in a sorority she posted a pic of herself all dressed up in her first game day dress and her ‘date’. She was beyond excited.

Once she got into the stadium I received this tweet before 1/2 time:

“Can’t even explain this experience #rolltide #bestcollege”

and her FB post showing a pic of the stadium w/ the band playing and people waving pom pom’s later that day

“It’s cute hearing other schools talk about their school spirit and football games and stuff, but I think we win…”

LOL I think that she is pretty happy with her first game day experience. RTR
We did’t pick the college based on football, but it sure is the icing on the cake LOL
I can’t wait to go to our first game which will be Ole Miss

My D, who does/did NOT have a rabid love of football, sent this a few minutes into the game:

“I want to stay for the auburn game!”

That was followed later by a video of Big Al being crowdsurfed to the top of the stadium.

She called later with a multitude of reasons why we should excuse her from Thanksgiving weekend so she can attend the Iron Bowl. She also asked me what I thought of the offensive line and said they need some work.

Oy.

busymom-the red and white streamer thingies are referred to as “shakers”. I’ve been told that boys don’t use pom poms but they love “shakers”. We were going to my younger daughter’s high school football game last Friday when my husband asked, “did you get the shakers?” Made me smile ;)

Glad to hear your daughters all have gotten into the game! My D loved football before she went, and she’s even more into it now! She and her dad have more to talk about now than ever before!!!

Seems like there are a few of us going to the Ole Miss game. We should plan to meet up!!

Oh, and lattelady, I hope you are going to let your daughter stay for the game!

^^ Oh no, pressure from my D and from CC! :)

I selfishly want her to stay hom for the entire weekend and she doesn’t have the B package. But if she can swing getting a ticket, we won’t fight it (much).

Roll tide!

lattelady … my D informed me on the day that she got her ‘B’ Package that she would not be home for Thanksgiving. LOL D said that some kids are selling their Auburn ticket for $100. But as it gets closer the price should come down.

CasinoExec would know best if he see’s this…

I guess D’s game date was pretty impressed w/ her football knowledge. I keep telling her that she will make some man very happy once she gets married as she is more likely to be sitting on the couch watching the games! AND she bakes. lol

I am sad that she won’t be home for the holiday, but I figure it is only 3 weeks until she is home for Christmas break and we will make up for it then.

I’d love to meet anyone who is going to be there for the Old Miss game. We are flying in on Thursday night late. Plan on being on campus pretty much all day on Friday and Saturday. We are hoping to tailgate at the Honors Tailgate…as we are from Chicago and don’t know anyone else there who would be tailgating and would invite us.

Maybe meet later on Friday night? I figure my D will want to go out Friday night w/ friends after dinner. Maybe we could meet someplace for a cocktail and chat?
