Can't log on to the FAFSA website!

Oh my gosh, I hope that someone can help me. I would really like to get this form done today. When I go to the FAFSA website, it says that our browser has not been certified. However, we have tried this on two computers and three different browsers. My husband says that our browsers are all up to date. I know that they do site maintenance on Sunday mornings until 11:00, but it is now almost 1:00 Eastern Time. Does anyone have any advice?

It’s working for me- [FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) Make sure you use the right website. Also, what browser are you using?

I am having trouble too, I used firefox, explorer and AOL. (all updated)

Hmm, I just saw that it’s undergoing maintenance. Perhaps wait an hour and see if it’ll work then?

Thanks for answering! We have tried Internet Explorer 8.0 for Vista, Safari 4.0 for Mac and going through two different servers- from home and my husband’s work server. Debruns- we’re in Northern Connecticut! Do you think it’s a Connecticut thing?

I’ll try again in an hour. I don’t want to do it tomorrow because my husband’s paycheck will be deposited and we will look richer than we really are!

I don’t know, maybe the maintainence is taking longer than the 11am finish they said on their site. I’ll try again tonight and see.

I was just exploring this site before I try again and saw that you have a child who got into UConn. So do I! That’s one reason I want to get this FAFSA thing in…

not working for me

Are you in Ohio? I’m trying here again in CT at 3:00.

Still nothing. Congrats Shirleym2010, does your child want to go to UConn or is it one of a few possibilities.
I want to get this going too while I have the energy and time off. I have to do it for 2!

yes- I can’t access my saved work in progress today. It just keeps taking me to a 2009-2010 option. Also it says my browser incompatible. Hopefully this is temporary.

Glimmergirls- yes, that’s as far as I get- bumped to the 2009-2010 version or the bad browser page. I don’t even know if it saved any of my previous work. Debruns- yes! My daughter got into the honors program and is very interested. She also applied to the special law program. Do you have one already there?

No I don’t but my twins got in this year. My son 3 years ago didn’t apply. I have known quite a few students though, some loved it, some hated it, some said “it was fine”. Some of it was attitude and personality and some was just feeling overwhelmed. I think the honors program can make it’s own "bubble’ which is nice.
I have to do their fafsa and look over my son’s for grad school. I want to make sure he does all the things correctly so he doesn’t have to update it.
The CSS profile is 3/4 done but I have a lot of blanks.

I’ve had the same problem as everyone else has mentioned – all our browsers are updated we tried several different as well, including logging in from husbands work server. Does anyone think it would be ok to just try and proceed, does that even work – I haven’t tried?

I was able to fill in one age with basic information, then got another error message. Actually, I’m glad I’m doing this now- imagine how frustrated people will be on Feb 1st!

Sorry, one page. The next time I can work on this is tomorrow night, hopefully it will be fixed by then!

I am having trouble with the FAFSA myself this AM, when I called the service person told me to keep trying, very frustrating, though !!!

Yes, I do one page, hit the next button and get kicked out. Very Frustrating!

Well, I finally have it all in & it is all “saved” so I guess I am going to wait a while before I print it out and submit it. I have never had this much trouble before, and this is my 4th child applying as a freshman!
