i can't log on to OASIS or explore USC, because my pin number is wrong. it's supposed to be your birthday, right?? I just wanted to go on there to see my fin aid. do they mail the fin aid stuff home to, or just through oasis?

MMDDYY (of your birthday).

it doesnt work! it says I have the wrong pin. I don't know what is wrong

are you entering the correct USCID?

or have you, or someone else in family, ever accessed OASIS b4?

The first time that you logon, it will immediately prompt you to change your PIN.

i would call the admissions office,
but dont freak out.
it could be that they just haven't activated your account yet for some reason..

i thought it was MMDDYYYY

maybe I'm wrong??

If you are trying to access OASIS.

If you go to the PIN field, and try to type 12345678
You will only get to 6
There is ONLY 6 characters allowed.
Try it and see.
It is MMDDYY not MMDDYYYYY

ok!!! I believe you!! I activated oasis a while ago, so I honestly don't remember!

If you have already activated OASIS in the past with your MMDDYY and changed your pin to a different 6-digit code and forgot it, then you need to call admissions for assistance.

I don't know if that was for me, but if it was, I know my 6 digit code, I just forgot that the intial password was MMDDYY and not MMDDYYYY

heh, once you get your usc email account there's no need to login using the pin anyway - you can get to OASIS through my.usc.edu.

guidez89 - sorry, didn't mean to come across strongly. I just wanted to confirm the format MMDDYY.

jbusc - ok, now it's my turn for a question.

Which userid & pswd are used for my.usc.edu?

I tried my SIG userid at the my.usc.edu - and it wouldn't work because there are too many characters in the SIG userid.

I tried my OASIS userid (USCID), and OASIS password, in the my.usc.edu - and it did not work.

Is there yet another set of userid/passwords that are used in the my.usc.edu?

yep - your usc email account id and password is what you need to login at my.usc.edu. Basically that login id/password is the only one you'll ever need at usc, since all the old student ID/PIN stuff can be accessed through my.usc.edu

so you're not going to be able to login to my.usc.edu until you get your usc email address/account

Thanks, I checked via the Link from OASIS to the USC Email Setup pages. It indicates that you can not establish a USC Email account until about 2 weeks before classes begin. I am assuming that you are an existing student, or somehow found a special way to establish an Email account.
