Hey everyone!
So I have been stressing over choosing a college. I’m stuck between UCR and CSUN. CSUN is about 20 minutes away from where I live and UCR is about an hour depending on traffic. I have always wanted the dorm experience, but dorming at CSUN seems a bit dumb to me since I live so close. However, I know I will regret not experiencing dorm life. I will have to pay almost 4,300 out of pocket for UCR, and my financial aid isn’t officially changed yet for on campus living at CSUN, but I might have to pay almost the same as UCR if I don’t accept the unsubsidized loans they might give me at CSUN. I’m just incredibly overwhelmed and the deadline is in a week! PLEASE HELP! Btw, I am majoring in Business.
Two totally different schools. N has a rep of being a rich kids school for those who aren’t that academically strong.
UCR is a UC, so it’s rep will be stronger. I would pick UCR if my parents are fine with paying the costs.
What are your parents saying? Your FA pkg already likely includes full loans, so how will that extra cost get paid???
Assuming you won’t have to bury yourself in debt, I’d choose UCR - for the very reasons you state above.
