So, in my city, there is just one day where everybody who is applying to Harvard is interviewed. It's a Sunday.

On that particular Sunday, I have a piano performance and something having to do with composition = I am not going to be available from 12:30 pm until... 9:30?

My interviewer keeps asking me if I can come at 12:45 or 3:15, and I feel really bad for being a pain, but this is a commitment that I can't change or miss. However, I'm really interested in Harvard, and would like to interview if possible.

Is it bad/impolite/whatever that I keep having to say, well, no, I'm sorry, I just can't break my commitment and make that time (obviously in a more eloquent manner)? The interviewer did say it might be possible for me to interview on another day.

Does anybody else's city do Harvard interviews this way? Will it hurt me that I just can't make this day? If the interviewer did say (without my asking) that it might be possible for me to interview on another day, it is not impolite to ask if that may be considered as a possibility, is it? Does it seem like I am not interested in Harvard because I can't break my commitment?? sigh Also, how much does it hurt if you are not interviewed, in the event that nobody is willing to interview at another time? (Not that it really matters, seeing as it would be really hard/impossible to make any of the times he's suggested...)
