congrats on both schools! maybe i’m a little bit bitter that i’m going to Davis after getting rejected from UCLA (my top, favorite, ultimate, in love choice…) but I see your point in being torn between them. UCLA is really prestigious, and while idk what Davis’ undergrad poli sci program is like, I think you might find far better internship/future job opportunities with Davis being located so close to Sac. Personally, I love the UCLA campus and like LA, but if you prefer the Davis atmosphere and KNOW you’ll be happy there (vs. uncertainty about if you’ll ever feel the same way about LA) then go for Davis. :)

^hey Davis is a great school to even if it lacks the “prestige” factor. But I’m sure you’ll be able to join some sort of alumni-student network there. And you’re right, it’s so close to sac, I don’t see why you can’t land an internship that’s related to poli sci.
Davis people are very friendly and there are tons of resources for students!

yeah, i’m sure i’ll like Davis, I’m kind of excited for the college town experience cause i was never expecting to go somewhere like that. the prestige thing isn’t too big of a deal for me (after all, it’s grad school that matters! :P) but im just in love with Hogwarts–i mean UCLA. but yeah I actually talked to the student-alumni group at their Decisions day. What exactly is the benefit of joining that, just good networking opporunities?
