yup, its just one semester of everything (and odds are you will have some exemptions from certain things depending on your major). stern and tisch have 2 WTE semesters, but CAS just has one.

as for Australia, the courses offered can vary alot from semester to semester, so i'm guessing it will be back.

thats a lot of courses to take even though it is just 1 semester each. I don't know how many elective credits we get, but does the MAP really drain people of their elective credits?

also, does anyone know the best way to attack the MAP courses. Like, how many are recommended to take each semester, if its better to take certain courses first and others last, etc.

Well, MAP classes are required, so they have no effect on your electives. The number of electives are determined by your choice of study. For example, if you want to major and minor, then you'll have fewer electives than someone who just wants to major in one subject. Since MAP is designed in everyone's core curriculum, it doesn't drain electives.

In my experience, the best way to tackle MAP courses is what most people do: get them out of the way your freshman year. They're not fun, don't pertain to your major, and it would suck to have to take them as an upperclassman. Plus, taking them early means you'll be free to take more advanced classes once you're a junior or a senior. Also, don't take similar MAP classes in the same semester, that is, don't take world cultures and conwest together (both reading/writing heavy), and don't take math and science together. As for WtE, just close your eyes and take it, no other way to get out.
