My son tried sending an email updating Stanford today and he received a response asking him to fax any updates. So we created a pdf and sent an efax to the the fax number (who has a fax machine any more?) and it bounced back say there was no response. I can't understand why Stanford uses old technology like fax machines while all other colleges accept emails. As my younger son put it "No one uses fax machines anymore. They must not want updates!" Has anyone else successfully sent Stanford a fax?

i used an online free fax…faxzero.com

Did you use the admissions dept fax number?

@collegetime18. Time is of the essence. They are all due by March 1. You need to either fax, or email, or use the update form…or do all three just in case!

Yeah, faxing works. I sent in an update by fax, and a few days later got a confirmation email from my admission officer

quick question: is it standard protocol for the admissions officer to confirm? I sent a fax in mid-January about an update but haven’t heard anything, and they say they can’t track these things if you call and ask about it…

We ended up having his school councilor fax it and she received a confirmation that she forwarded to me.

In mid-February, our son emailed the Optional Update Form to Stanford and received an email confirmation that they had received it.
