I have been accepted to Berkeley for fall 2012, but my community college only sent a partial IGETC certification to Berkeley because they didn't have my AP scores yet. Now that they have my AP scores they say they cannot re-certify my IGETC since they can only send it once. Unfortunately, Berkeley doesn't allow partial certifications. Surely this will affect my admission. What am I to do? Is there a way around the "we can only send the certification once" rule? Will Berkeley not allow me to attend because of this? If so, can I defer enrollment until Spring to give this time to be sorted out? Any help is appreciated

There’s no reason that your CC cannot evaluate you for IGETC again. They probably meant that you will have to ask for another transcript, which may cost money.

If, for whatever reason, you do not get IGETC certification, then you will need to complete the breadth requirements for the division you are admitted to in order to *graduate/i.

If you are admitted to the College of Letters and Science, then its breadth requirements are listed here:

[Office of Undergraduate Advising: Summary of Degree Requirements](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/summary.html)

It is likely that many of the courses you took for IGETC will satisfy many of the L&S requirements. However, L&S does not allow AP credit to satisfy the seven course breadth requirement (although AP credit can satisfy the other requirements like reading and composition).

@calhooray, contact your Berkeley admission officer (contact information is at the bottom of your decision page in myBerkeleyApplication) to explain the situation and ask what you should do. Also camp out at your CCC’s counselor’s office and talk to every single counselor until one of them helps you figure out how to get around this “policy” (which sounds totally bogus to me).
