Can't switch into Psych after transfer at UCLA?

Is that true?

====Psychology/B.A.====
Listed below are the lower division preparation courses for the major. You
should complete all preparation courses prior to transfer. All courses must be
taken for a letter grade. Transfer students must be admitted as Pre-Psychology
majors in order to major in Psychology. Students originally admitted under other
majors will not be permitted to change their major to Pre-Psychology or
Psychology or to double major in Psychology. For more information regarding this
major and UCLA's transfer selection process, visit www.psych.ucla.edu and

Per assist.org for UCLA and my current college, check it out for your college.

ah, i c. Sociology major, here is come... Darn, i hope i can switch into that one.

r u hating your earth sciences major.

It might be fun!

Switch into my major..... math/econ

I don't know much about earth science. People who I've spoken to have given me contradicting opinions of it. SOme have told that they spend like 20 hours a week on one class and need a lot of outside time to finish their labs.

As for math math/econ, i would not want to take another math course in my whole life, other than maybe stats which i will have to take. I don't mind econ.

I am also looking at geography major, since I've never taken a class in these majors, it's also concerning.

THe nice part about these majors is that they both require 2-3 lower devision classes and 12-15 upper devision.

WHihc means it's possible to finish them in 2 yrs.

major in russian :) that would be easy.

I'd rather major in english

eww i would hate to major in any language.

what about international development or something, or do u want something science related?

anyone knows how to change the major? Or double majoring? Do we need to fill out any form or anything?

yes you have to petition or something to add a major, to dobule major, to change, and to minor.

for double majoring you have to get the approval of both departments and make a DP something, like DPR --degree progress report.

I found out that I actually fulfilled many lower division for psychology (only missing the anthr 1), I plan to double major in psychology and Math/Econ (planning to switch from Math/Applied Science). How would I do this specifically? Do I petition right now or after I transfer? If after transfer, anyone could give me more info?

You can not enter psychology unless you were accepted to psychology... you can not double major in it either.

for math /econ you petition after you start school.

I have to petition for it even though I'm already a math major? I mean Math/Econ and Math/Applied Science are in the same department but with different specialization.

We can't major in Psychology if we are not admitted under that major? aww, that is bad!

You have to petition to change it, otherwise they will not know.

you cant just declare it to yourself. you hve to fill out some forms, thats all they mean by petition

Are you math/econ major?

What major lower division and GEs have you taken before you will transfer? Be specific as possible...

i am math econ.

these are the requirmetns for lower div.

Calc 1
Calc 2
Calc 3
Linear Alg
Diff Eq
Econ 1 Macro
Econ 2 Micro
Econ 3(only at UCLA)--microapplications
Into to C++

I have completed Calc 1,2,3(this spring), diff eq in the summer, and Econ 1 and 2.

So altogether i will be missing C++, LInear, and Econ
