Is anyone else here doing CAP at UTSA?
I might be, but I am not sure. I am considering UTSA or A&M, but I am not sure.
I wouldn’t do a CAP program for UT-Austin. The real problem is not getting into the university. It’s getting into an employable major like business or computers. Business, engineering, computers, nursing, etc. are ridiculously selective, and unless you have a near 4.0, you’re pretty much stuck studying liberal arts. You’re better off just staying at UTSA or going for another school like Houston, Texas State, or Texas Tech.
Thanks for the advice. Just wanted to know if there are others on here that have accepted, I’d like to make a GroupMe or something like that. Do you know anyone who has done CAP? For people like me, I think it’s a good option. I’d like to stay in the Austin area for school, but one year in San Antonio won’t kill me. If things don’t work out, I will be fine with staying at UTSA. Also, business and computer science definitely aren’t the only employable majors.
@coolguy40 Liberal Arts also includes Economics. That’s pretty marketable.
@sjtx1366 I submitted my CAP agreement for UTSA back in February and was wondering if there was a groupme or group chat with future CAP students too. But I haven’t gotten their email yet for my utsa ID even though they said it would take 10 days after submitting the agreement. Glad to know there’s someone actually considering doing CAP though lol
@BluePinkerton Sadly, under the CAP program, Economics isn’t a guaranteed major under Liberal Arts in UT Austin. It was in the cap agreement contract
@6jmsuu You should call UTSA’s OneStop office. They’re open until Wednesday then they’re out for break. Also, it definitely sucks that Econ isn’t guaranteed.
