My daughter first received notification that she was invited to participate in the CAP program. On her My Status portal, her freshman application status changed from “CAP” to “Admitted”. Today she received an 8X10 envelope with the letter of congratulations notifying her she was admitted. We are super excited but hoping that this isn’t a mistake?!? This all happened after business hours so we could not call and confirm.
Has anyone else ever heard of this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have any light they can shed?
We’re experiencing whatever you call thrilled and skeptical at the same time.
Thanks!
Wow that’s amazing news. I understand your worry and confusion, but the fact that she received an admissions letter in the mail AND she has “admitted” status online seems very positive! I can’t shed any light for you, but it sure sounds like she’s admitted! Hopefully you can have it all confirmed first thing tomorrow morning.
Does Mystatus indicate that she was admitted to her first choice major? Or does she need to choose from available majors? Congrats to your daughter
She did not get her first choice major and had already been notified she was waitlisted for that. Under “Major” It says “School of Undergraduate Studies Undeclared”
This is super exciting and so, so strange!!! So hard to want to be really excited but worried that perhaps this is some really horrible mistake?
(Thanks for the congrats by the way!)
that’s so awesome, congratulations! Was she JUST offered CAP, or was she offered PACE/CAP/waitlist? If it’s the latter, it sounds like she was admitted off the waitlist, even if it wasn’t into her chosen major.
SlimShadyLady - to be perfectly honest, I don’t know. I saw the email she received briefly talking about the CAP program but I had not looked at her My Status information.
She’s calling the Office of Admissions today.
Hope this isn’t an awful mistake!
