CAP courses

i still have not received my CAP choices. i called brown, and they said that it was sent at the beginning of june. ??? (i was admitted off the waitlist, and do live across the ocean but am not an international)…

is there anything important i should know that the internet does not give?

thanks!

The only difference that I could tell was that the mailings give more dtailed course decriptions, but that you might be able to find them on BOCA. A lot of the stuff that was in the mailings was like essays and stuff by professors. Might be interesting, but not really helpful for picking CAP courses.

yeah, and you can sign up for the courses online, since the deadline is weds, I too have not received anything and was a waitlist admit, I will probly end up doing it online. This is the link: http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/advising/cap/

does anyone know for the online thing, if we don't want any CAP courses, do we just leave it as zero cap courses selected?

Yeah, just don't register. Or yeah, don't select any of them.

we don't have to take CAP courses right? just want to make sure..

correct, it simply means that your advisor won't be one of your professors during the fall semester.

I wish I could have an advisor in chemistry as an alternate choice.

Do you think that advising thing we filled out has any impact on our adviser? Like, if we put a certain field as our primary academic interest, will they try to put an member of that field as our adviser?

i just looked at the brown website and saw that it said in the mailer that contained the CAP course stuff (sent early june) has materials that are due on july 1. what are those materials? i still have not received this packet but selected CAP courses online. thanks

I don't think anything is due besides the CAP courses, so you are good.

yeah, if u did it online, you're fine
