CAP into McCombs?

So i got CAPPED unfortunately and im left with two questions:

How likely is it for CAP students to get into McCombs after their cap year?

Is it possible to change the major im applying to at UT Austin after receiving my CAP offer?

Im sure these have been answered before but i cant find the answers anywhere on here.

During CAP you can take courses for which ever major you want. Each department has guidelines. However, with CAP you are guaranteed admission to UGS only. So, if you do not make McCombs you will definately get UGS. However, if you do not get into McCombs after CAP you can apply for an internal transfer at the end of sophomore year. If you still cannot get in, you have to settle for what is available to you.

Generally I believe about 60-70% of those who apply make it into McCombs thru internal transfer. The min GPA is about 3.5 and average is about 3.7 or 3.8. Therefore, I would guess, anyone with 700+ on all the SAT sections and who has scored 5s on three or more AP courses , including Calc should have no difficulty getting the grades at UTSA to get into McCombs. You basically have to get A grades in calculus and economics to make it.
