Hi! I am participating in the CAP program and have chosen to go to UTSA (san Antonio) next year, currently I am a senior in high school. I am majoring in Biology, and I was told that at UTSA, you are required to take a chemistry placement test. If anyone has taken this test or has any sort of valuable information on what's good to study for it, or topics it covers, etc, it would be much appreciated! I am a nervous wreck and want to make sure I pass! Thanks!

bump. If anyone also knows any information regarding the calculus placement test because the testing site is vague.

UTSA offers boot camps offered by the jump start program to help with these placement tests. I would strongly recommend going to these. You can take it as many times as you would like till you get a high enough score to get into whatever class you would like… You have to get a certain number of questions right to be placed at a certain level, I can’t remember off the top of my head the exact number for each, but most people take it multiple times… Nothing to be nervous about!

No, no, no - this is not correct.
Yes, they have a jumpstart program. No you cannot take the test as many times as you need to get into the class you want. UTSA is VERY clear on this. You have ONE attempt, and that is your permanent score. Currently the chemistry department requires an 84% on their placement test to get into general chemistry. Seriously.
