CAP program or Texas State Transfer?

I applied to UT Austin as a nursing major and got CAPed! The only school they say I’m eligible to attend for that program is UT Arlington! I also got accepted into the Texas State pre nursing program! I was wondering if the CAP program is worth it or if I should eventually transfer from Texas State into the nursing program at UT

UT Arlington is actually one of the more coveted CAP campuses, along with UTSA. That said, CAP does not guarantee that you will be able to transfer into a nursing-related major at UT Austin, just into UGS or Liberal Arts. If you know that nursing is what you want to do, you might be better off going to Texas State and applying to transfer to UT Austin during your freshman year to see if you can get into a major that works for you. This is especially true if you’re not keen on the UT Arlington option. If not, then you’ll still be on track for your goal at Texas State, which doesn’t at all sound like a bad fallback option. Either way, you will really need to keep your first year grades as high as possible to max out your chances of a successful transfer.
