CAP Students 14-15

I'm planning on doing CAP next year and I'd like to connect with my fellow CAP students! I'm planning on UTSA. Who else is doing CAP and what school? Maybe we can make a Facebook page to connect over the summer :)

I also received the cap program and may be planning on doing it as well i will refer to this post to my other friends who may do the cap program :)>-

Doing CAP and UTSA

CAP at UTSA! anyone doing rotc at utsa?

Does CAP take a full year?

Yep that’s y I can’t do it

I just found out CAP students are only guaranteed majors at the College of Liberal Arts or Undergraduate Studies…does anyone know how hard it’d be to get into other colleges?

depends which college , Natural sciences not that hard , Mccombs your going to need a 3.7+ , and engineering - 3.5+

If I do end up doing CAP I am going to pretty much no life next year so I can get into engineering

@PhoDreams do you think theres a possibility to get into engineering? I don’t, I got CAP but I just doubt we will get to choose other than general studies or liberal arts. I really want to go to UT but I also really want to do Petroleum or Mechanical engineering. I got Petroleum at OU. I just don’t know what to do

^^^ I would do OU. There is no guarantee of your major at UT. Start at OU and you could consider transferring later. You could waste time trying to get into your major.

I was considering CAP at first, but when I read in the online agreement that Natural sciences is no longer a guaranteed admission college I don’t think I’ll do it. While a high gpa might help me in the process, there’s always a chance that won’t be admitted to CNS. I’m not taking that chance.

Doing CAP at UT Tyler

Yes, you can get into the major of your choice if you do well at your CAP school. My son did UTSA and got one B in his 30 hours. He was accepted into Mech Engineering at UT Austin.

Are cap student who appeal on the waitlist

Oh man that sucks that Natural Sciences isn’t guaranteed anymore! I’m a CAP student and neuroscience major at UTSA so I guess I was a part of the last group. I know that business and engineering are extremely hard to transfer into because I have a lot of other friends that are CAP students trying to get into those schools. I also know some people that want to transfer into the communications school and I think they will be able to fairly easily. I recommend doing CAP and doing an internal transfer if UT is really where you want to go. I’d be happy to answer questions that you have about UTSA or CAP in PMs.

My thoughts exactly @JD1327
Guess now I will either go to university of florida or heaven forbid texas a&m

I will probably go for CAP but I’m unable to decide between UT Arlington and UTSA as my freshman college. Which one is better?
