CAP Talk - Where are you going? What are you thinking?

I’ll be going from Houston to UTEP for CAP (CAP class of 2019) , I’m mostly from SA so didn’t want to go to UTSA. UT Tyler and the others seemed not for me. So although I know nothing about UTEP or El Paso for that matter I’m excited to get started and get to Austin! Where are you going? What are you majoring in? I’ll be majoring in Econ so hopefully it’s guaranteed after CAP. I’d like to hear other perspectives, comment comment!

I’m from San Antonio and will be attending UT Arlington in the fall. (UTSA was just too close). Attempting to get into McCombs

Awesome. I’m gonna try for the McCombs minor they let some econ majors into if they have the right stats. I think 3.0 in all UT classes and 3.0 in all econ classes total and you can do a business minor in admin, marketing or finance. What made you choose Arlington? Do you know anyone doing CAP there? I think everyone goes to UTSA or Tyler since I’m yet to find a soul that’s done it or is doing it at my school haha. (Sort of regretting it now but it’s all about Austin so who cares right)

Since Im from San Antonio I didn’t really wanna be that close to home (30 minutes from my house). Arlington is typically considered the 2nd best cap option behind utsa. Plus it’s right next to Cowboy Stadium and the Rangers Ballpark haha

I’m choosing UTEP for CAP! I grew up in Houston and moved to El Paso 4 years ago. I wanted to leave for college, but I wasn’t feeling any of the other UT schools much either. Academics are phenomenal and there’s a lot of school spirit, and El Paso is an up and coming city. The UTEP architecture is beautiful and many renovations have happened (and are still happening) over the past few years. There are many resources and activities for college kids in this town. I’d love to meet someone else in CAP at UTEP! If you have any other UTEP questions or want to know about the city, I’d be happy to help you out!
