Can you guys help me understand these programs? For a relatively untrained male high school kiddo, is it too ambitious to think about a 2 year program rather than a 4 year degree? We were only compiling a list of 4 year programs originally; then upon reading of the 2 year options, my curiosity was piqued. As always, TIA!!
2 year options won’t give you a college degree, and often do not carry financial assistance, at least not in the way that a 4-year college program would, for one thing.
Cap21 is no longer offering a 2 year certificate program. They have been taken over full time by Molloy and even though nothing about the program will change, they will only be working with the 4 year BFA students from Molloy.
“No longer offering” is a kind way of saying they abruptly ended the 2 year program mid-year and kicked the students to the curb.
OOF, @NYkids really?!? Was your kid one of them? That’s horrible.
I do not want to go into detail on boards, but this has been not only heartbreaking, but a complete disaster.
That’s horrible, @NYkids! I’m so sorry. If they wanted to end the program, they should have stopped taking NEW students, but allowed the currently-enrolled students to complete the course before ending it!
I understand, @NYkids. Hate to hear it-best of luck!
Our feelings exactly! Thank you!
