I know someone who went to CAP 21 and enjoyed it. I would say have her dress nice and neat. Nothing real fancy, but no flip flops or sloppy clothing. Dress respectfully. If she can’t stay in a dorm, where will you stay? Even a little studio in NYC is $1,500. per month, so be prepared. If she is declined, it could be for a lot of reasons…they can only take so many people. Doesn’t mean she isn’t talented. I don’t think it would hurt her for the next year. I think 15 is kind of young for that program. Maybe you should wait until she can be in the dorm with the other participants. What is the age that she could be in the dorm? I am thinking my daughter might enjoy that program but she is only 15 as well.

Bailey thanks for your response. We live 35 min north of NYC. It would be quite
easy for my d to commute by train. She has been commuting for the past year into NYC.
I want to encourage her to audition. If she doesn’t get in, it wasn’t meant to be.

I think it is a problem having them attend a program like Cap when you are younger as
they miss out on the socializing and interaction with a group of students that have the same interests. The Cap program will not allow you to stay in the dorm facility until you are 17. She would have the same problem next year as her birthday is not until October.

Good Luck with your d and once again thanks.
