Hello, my name is Megan, I'm 17 years old and from Arizona, and I was accepted into the CAP21 Pre-College Musical Theatre Program in NYC this summer. My parents are interested in finding out more information on the program before we make the final decision. Is there anyone who's child has attended the program or you have attended yourself? All opinions, tips, information, impressions, anything would be so very helpful! I am dead set on going but I need more information on safety, the teachers, quality, etc. before my parents are completely convinced!

Thanks in advance for anything and everything!

If you contact the program coordinator(s), they may be able to provide you with a list of references (past attendees) to whom you can speak.

hey, did you choose to do this in the end?
i’m viveca and i’m 16 (i’m from hong kong!) and i’m doing that this summer. :)

Hi Megan! That’s great you’ve been accepted to the summer program! I just finished the 2 year professional program at CAP21…and actually my roommate is from Arizona as well, and she just finished the program too! She also did the summer program before attending the 2 year program! I can personally tell you that the training at CAP21 is top notch. I have grown so much as an artist in my time at CAP and have so many new skills that i never would have realized I could have. In terms of the faculty, they are so caring of each individual student, but they also make sure to really challenge and push you to be your best. I live in New York near CAP21 and I always feel safe. New York is a very different place than it used to be. Especially in the summer, there is so much to do and there are a lot of fun outdoor concerts and festivals (and a lot of them are free, which is great!!)

Please let me know if you have any other specific questions about CAP or being in NYC. Between my roommate and I, I’m sure we can cover any questions you have!

Thanks!
