Hi all!

Anyone else here auditioning for the Summer Cap21 program? My D has hers on Feb. 11. NYU also has a campus tour program the day before so we are going to do the first campus visit 2/10.

If there are any CC'ers who are doing the same and would like to try to connect, please PM me!

Or anyone with words of wisdom on the audition...we've read the dress threads, use and dont use monologues and music, etc....but anyone who has been to through the process and the program that wants to chime in, please do so!

Mikks Mom

My D knows kids who have attended both the Tisch Cap program and the Cap studio program but unfortunately I don't know enough about the audition to be of any help! Sorry! Is your D applying to the Tisch Cap program, too? Both are good programs. Best of luck to your D and have fun in the city! :)

My daughter did the CAP 21 program last summer. You arrive at the audition and sit in the waiting area with other candidates. Sign-in when you get there and ask if you can use a warm up room which they have available to everyone, but if you don't ask they may not offer it and you want to make sure that you get in line before your audition time. My D auditioned for the heads of the program with a provided accompianist. All very very nice people. She sang two songs and did one monologue then she "interviewed" for about 5-10 minutes. We were there about an hour in total. Let me know if you have any other questions

That is very interesting that they had a warm up room and an accompanist because for the auditions to get into the BFA program, they had neither. Was this the CAP program through Tisch or CAP's own summer program? If it was their own, then that explains it. The BFA audition is run through Tisch.

this is the program through cap! NOCCAmom said it exactly as it is. It's very relaxed, nothing to get too worried about. As long as she is prepared, she will be fine and the interview was nothing too serious. In my case they just asked about how much dance experience I hace had and would I feel comfortable taking the dance classes. They asked where I planned on living...nothing too taxing like some of the BFA interview questions.

Hope your daughter does well, it really is an incredible program!

This was the CAP 21 sponsored program not the Tisch program
