Cappex vs. Naviance

So, my school uses Naviance, but it's never worked for me and two years ago I signed up for Cappex. (cappex.com) Does anyone have profiles on both sights, and could list pros and cons and stuff like that? I really like Cappex but I've always wondered how legit it was and how it stood up to Naviance, and if I should figure out how to fix my Naviance account.

Thanks! :D

I use Naviance. it’s alright but disheartning. Idk to which extent to trust naviance and apparantly Cappex alike. Becaues I think the avg accepted grades in my school might be a little bit higher than average. It makes me feel as if my chances are lessened.

My school made us all make Naviance accounts but I signed up for Cappex on my own. I found neither to be very useful.

I have yet to use Naviance for my school, but I fear it will make me overconfident, if anything…

Naviance is very useful if you do not rely on the quant. calculations.
The averages tend to be skewed badly based on outlier data (too low or too high).

What you should use is the graph that shows clearly where the clustering of
acceptance occurs for your school. For example the minimum GPA that ever got
acceptance at school X or the cutoff SAT score etc. Also it will show you a
realistic clustering of the real average results. This is the average GPA and SAT score
you should use for college X to determine your odds.

I use cappex now as well and i find the “whos getting in” chart to be very helpful. it somtimes is discouraging but at the same time you see where you need to work harder at to be able to be in good standing with that particular school.

naviance was good for me.

I like the Cappex scattergrams they show for each school.

ok…clueless one here…very familiar with Naviance…what is cappex? is it particular to your own school (like Naviance) or more general (in which case it would be difficult to compare GPA’s)?
