Wiggledums!
YAY!

to the OP:

awesome post. you deserve to be a mod or have this stickied.

hey card you think i could see your long essay?

wow, there's someone up other than me and yams.

yeah no doubt. I'll PM you soon.

thanks card =]

PM sent =}

thanks card!

no problem! haha tell me what you think; i always like to hear criticisms about what I write moreso than vague faint praise.

The Gospel According to CardinalFocused
"Beyond all the advice that the great one has given us, the most important still remains: in order to transfer, one must eat 3 tacos a day - one during brunch, one during linner, and one for fourth meal."

Hey Cardinal, your advice was really great and I was actually just wondering if you knew anyone at HAAS who transferred from UC Davis since that's where I'm trying to transfer from!
Thanks!

The most reassuring thing, Cardinal, was knowing that the 'prototypical community college student' could make it into a prestigious school. I really screwed up in highschool and it's good to know that I didn't completely eliminate all chances to exel. No other site seems to address this subject. Thankyou.

By the way, I also attend COC and I am hoping to attend UCLA so you're quite the inspiration!

i just found this thread, decided to bump it.

thanks Cardinal for the wonderful advice. good stuff.

Good stuff. Do you think that I could have a copy of your other essay? or, if you get your friends?

Thank you very much

cardinal, u seem to know everything about this transfer business, but i think i have a situation that even u can't fully answer. i have repeated my situation over and over again, and NONE were able to give me satisfactory answer, perhaps because it is too subtle. but here it is:

i am about to apply for transfer in one year to ucla with expected tap certification, igetc by end of spring semestre with just over 60 semestre units. i am in the process of completing the history major requirements for ucla this semestre. i also completed partially the major requirements for art history (the other two required courses are not offered at my ccc being tiny and unknown)

but, my problem is which major i should choose? art history or history (both of which i like equally). will i have better chance if i choose art history, a less popular major (but, for which i did not complete the requirements)? or history, a more popular major (yet, of which reqirements i completed)?

How many requirements are you missing for history? When will you complete the history requirements by?

i have nothing missing for history requirements, but for art history i am missing 2 of the 4 required. my school doesn't offer the other two requirements

dose anyone know in cases where the school you go to dose not offer the pre-reqs needed; do the UCs look at them as just the same as other unfisnished pre-reqs?

sauronvoldemort, which college do you currently attend?

Not sure. But it'd help a lot if you could go to another nearby CC and complete those pre-reqs...It'll save you time and the UC tuition money.

In my opinion [I know many will disagree with me, especially because this is CC], I think you should really look at the two majors at choose which one you see yourself studying for the next two years. In other words, don't choose a major to 'strategize' your chances; this is a UC transfer application and not a game of Survivor.
