Care to Chance Me for ED?

Hi everyone! I was a little skeptical about doing this at first, but then I thought, why not try it?!

What is my chance of getting into Cornell ED? It is my dream school, and I would absolutely love to attend.

I go to a very competitive high school. It is ranked 3rd in my state. To give you a rough idea, 10 kids from my school were accepted into Cornell last year.

SAT US History: 630

Did I mention that I am AWFUL at subject tests? :(
I will be taking Math II on October 1st.

HOOKS
- I am not sure if this counts as a hook, but I am a first generation immigrant

Decent chances(: However, your subject tests should really be above 700 for each… But like I said, decent chances(: Do you mean you’d be the first generation to attend college, or that you’re just a first generation immigrant? It only matters if you’re the first generation to attend college, unfortunately. If I were you, I’d apply ED (since your GPA’s fine), get my subject tests up to 700+ each, and write essays that’re both compelling and informative. Good luck!(:

By the way, can everyone chance me please?(: I know I have some high reaches, but I’m not expecting much out of them.

What school would you be applying to within cornell? Your SAT 2s are low for any of them though.

@ EliKresses - Aw, I’m just a first generation immigrant :frowning:
Thank you, for the advice though!
@ Ithacakid - If you read more clearly, you would have noticed that in my original post, I wrote that I was applying to Arts and Sciences…

Pretty good GPA, SAT I score isn’t special, pretty average, SAT II scores are somewhat low, probably will hurt you a bit, Tough course schedule, EC’s aren’t too bad at all…

I’d say you have a decent chance of getting in. Nothing really stands out at all and your test scores aren’t great.

Good luck though!

decent chances, though poor SAT II scores will pull you down. do you mind chancing me? (:

SAT II scores will have little to no impact on admission.

If you apply ED, I’m going to say you have a 75% chance. Since your GPA is only weighted, I don’t really know too much how to interpret it, but generally it’s very important for Cornell. Since your school seems to send a lot of people to Cornell, your guidance counselor can probably give you an idea of your chances and how you compare to others who have gotten in from your school.

Thanks everyone! Does anyone know if SAT II scores are THAT big of a deal in admissions, especially regarding Cornell?

…as I said before they will have little to no impact on you chances. If they want you, based on the rest of your application, your subject test scores will not keep you out.

I think you’ll get in.
