Hi all, I'm not sure if my post exactly fits here as I'm a community college hoping to transfer into a UC school, but I didn't really get any answers in the UC Transfer thread, so I thought I'd try here in case anyone might be able to tell me a thing or two =)

Off the bat, I know that my math isn't impressive at all. The highest I've manged to take is statistics and I probably won't be taking any level of calculus.

Here are courses that I've currently taken
CO SCI 201 - INTRO TO COMPUTER SCIENCE
CO SCI 208 - VISUAL BASIC PROGRAMMING
CO SCI 243 - INTRO TO C++
CO SCI 290 - INTRO TO JAVA PROGRAMMING
CO SCI 840 - OBJECT ORIENTED C++
CO SCI 836 - DATA STRUCTURES
MATH 227 - STATISTICS
ENGLISH 101 - COLLEGE READING AND COMPOSITION 1
ENGLISH 103 - COMPOSITION AND CRITICAL THINKING
ENGLISH 207 - AMERICAN LITERATURE I
HISTORY 12 - SOCIAL HISTORY OF THE US II
ADM JUS 1 - INTRO TO ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE
SPANISH I - ELEMENTARY SPANISH
PHILOSOPHY 9 - SYMBOLIC LOGIC

I've currently completed 45 units and my GPA is 4.0 (the only positive thing I can really say about myself, but as my course load isn't full of difficult classes, I figure it might not mean as much).

The main school I'm interested in is UCLA and I selected "linguistics with computer science" as my intended major as I have an odd fascination with language after having been in speech therapy classes for a large chunk of my early school years and I've just always liked computers - I figured the major would be perfect for me. However, I've noticed that not many transfer actually seem interested in the major, so that's not making me feel good. Other UC's I applied for were UCSD, UCB, UCI and UCSB.

Thanks for any information and you can definitely be as honest as you need to be - I would certainly appreciate knowing how realistic my odds are. Oh, I've also noticed people mentioning their age/race, so I'm a 19 year old Mexican from Southern California (East LA if I need to be extra specific).
