Care to chance me?

Just submitted my application a few days ago. RPI is my favorite non reach school.

GPA 3.71 (weighted) (upward trending)
Top 20% (it's a tough public school)

AP Calculus AB (5 on the exam)
AP Calculus BC (currently taking)
AP Physics C (currently taking)

Math: 730
Reading: 720
Writing: 640
(SAT II) Physics: 710
(SAT II) Math II: 700

President of my school's robotics team (we actually compete)
Two month long academic summer programs on college campuses (competitive)
Three teacher recommendations + counselor rec
I live across country but I came and toured the campus

From a point to point standard I'm looking pretty good, but college board scores tend to lag and with schools getting more and more competitive I'm a little cautious. My main points of concern are my GPA and only three AP classes (some of my friends have their schedule's loaded). I'm sure I have a good shot but am I likely? Merit based aid would also be nice. I can elaborate on any points if needed.

You’ve probably got a 50/50 shot first round, but you’ll definitely get in off the waitlist, and it seems you get the same amount of aid either way.

You do FIRST or VEX?

Thanks for the prediction. I’m in FIRST and will be applying for some of the FIRST scholarships. Does RPI waitlist and accept a lot of people?

Yep. I had maybe 8 friends in HS apply, I was the only one to get in on the first day but they were all eventually offered a spot.

Don’t know how much of a difference ED vs RD would factor, but I did ED with very similar academic statistics (3.82 weighted GPA, close SAT scores, maybe 20-30 pts less on each section, however I have already taken calc BC and got a 5 and physics C and got a 4 on both of the exams) and I got in ED. I say you’ve got a good shot at getting in.

For posterity, I was accepted regular decision.
