Hey guys,

This is my first post on CC. I graduated from a top 50 Uni last May, and ended up in Medical school shortly after... During high school, I thrived in my science courses, so I decided to embark upon a career in Medicine, and declared as a Biology major given the pre med overlap. I'm currently in Med school, and have had a severe mental breakdown. I have decided to take a leave of absence and possibly try my hands in finance (since I enjoyed the few econ classes i took during undergrad). I currently decided upon doing an MBA in the near future.

To any users in i-banking, consulting, or investment management -- would it be smart to go back to my college and earn a second degree in econ (I would need about 7 additional courses, and most of the requirements would be met in the summer), in order to land a job as an entry level analyst? Or should I save my money, work within the family business (which is non-finance related) as the required "work experience" for an MBA, and later do an MBA in finance? Would employers look negative upon my college major in biology, even if it is supplemented with a MBA finance? Would not having a Econ/Finance major inhibit my progression within the corporate ladder? I figured taking a second econ degree would definitely help me raise my U.GPA, and it would kinda serve as a litmus test to determine if I have an appropriate aptitude for finance/business. My eventual goal is to break into a healthcare investment banking division, since it would be a great way to consolidate my science & future banking skills. what would be the best way to break into this industry?any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
