Career Choice: Stability VS Happiness

This may sound bad but I would rather have an unsatisfactory job were I am making a steady income than to have a low-paying/no paying job where I am “happy”. Happiness can be found anywhere no matter what you are doing.

Having a steady income or a higher pay will ensure a nicer house, a nicer house, more vacations, travel etc. Even though material aren’t the only ways to happiness, they can ensure happier thoughts and better memories.

Being a “starving artist” will only give you thoughts of the immediate future. Questions such as “where will I get my next meal” or “how will I pay the bills” can arise frequently and to me that will only lead to stress and less happiness.

If you have a passion for painting, it would be a more profitable hobby than an actual career but this post is not about being a painter it’s about what you want to do.

You have years and years and years to figure out what you want to do and between now and in the next 10 years the economy and the demand for certain jobs will change. It is best to figure out what your strongest traits are go into an appropriate field in that area.
