Hi! Has anyone been accepted to Tulane's 2013 Summer Career Explorations in Architecture for high school students? My daughter applied on January 1st but she hasn't heard back yet. She wants to learn what Architecture is and see if that is what she'd like to major in.

Also, if anyone has participated in this summer program in the past, could you please tell us a little about it? For example, did you like it? How many students were in the program? Did the program help you decide if Architecture is what you'd like to pursue or not? Thanks!

My daughter did a similar program at the Boston Architectural College last summer.
It helped validate that she really did want to pursue architecture and she is strongly considering Tulane for Fall of 2013. I think it’s definitely a worthwhile experience and shows schools you’re applying to that you have really investigated the major. I think it was one of the things that put her over the edge in her applications. It also gave her a few things to add to her portfolio and exposure to many Grad students in Arch who were her studio instructors. I don’t know much about the summer program at Tulane but I assume it’s similar.
