Career Goals

meadow, have you considered genetics? I heard the genetic engineering (I'm not sure if that's what its called or not but I hope you know what I mean) is supposed to be HUGE when we grow up. Consider biostats in college?

I just went to the Armed Forces Career Center today.

I picked up a few ROTC applications.

I want to major in European History and Education with a minor in Music. Hopefully if I don't get a good job in the museum business I can teach either music or history. My dream is to become a curator for a palace in the UK.

^ If you want to major in History, you better get the ph.D in history.

major in international relations and pre-med(international health at georgetown) and go to med school and then work for the red cross or world health organization working in south american countries to help cure disease there......or major in business and start my own business to help market better health in america.

idk i just wanna be rich lyke billionaire lol

lol maybe dropping out of college withl help hehehe

I want to become the richest person in the world, become famous, and fix everything that's wrong with the world.

^ Too idealistic

If the politicians and the media don't stop you, an assassin's bullet would.

Liist, I plan on doing just that as soon as I have the money to.

Well, to be the richest person in the world, you have usually have to cause a lot of problems. Adjusted for inflation, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are not the richest people in history.

Two richest people in history are Rockefeller and Carnegie. Even though Rockefeller became a philanthropist, look at all the trouble his break-off oil companies are creating. ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and BP are all the result of Standard Oil.

One can argue that Carnegie did more good than harm with his philanthropy, but he was still a monopolistic crook.

Yah, Rockefeller had approx 320 billion as his net worth in today's dollars; quite the fortune.

I wonder how much the Pope has? If he suddenly decided to liquidize all the Catholic Church's assets (gold reserves, paintings, wall murals, etc.) and, if he could, liquidize every single Catholic venture in the world, I'm sure his fortunes would fly to the trillions easily.

As for the OP, I intend to be a biochem/pre-med major and then attend med-school for general surgery. Then I'd like to travel a bit, using my newfound med skills along the way (through doctors w/out borders or somesuch). Then I'll find a nice rural place in the countryside, live there for a while, and retire. When I retire, I'll probably go back to scool and travel alot more.

I plan to be the afore mentioned assassin.

I want to major in Biology, go to med school, and become an Obstetrician. :) yay

I want to major in French, Arabic, Classics, or Math (seriously, haha). I'd like to be a journalist, writer (and I'm constantly learning new ways to make a living at that. It's actually possible with some connections!), magazine or newspaper editor, diplomat, lawyer, translator, or professor.

No idea what to major in, let alone have a favorite subject or in the slightest way suitable for a typical "humanities-oriented" or "math/science oriented" to be labeled to begin with. I'm pretty nonchalant for now with all subjects; I'll like history for one year (as I did in 8th grade, since US history was decent and the teacher was a BAMF, and only class I paid any attention to and actually did hw in the midst of my gaming 6 hours daily), then this year I thought all subjects pretty much equally boring, with biology a definite first being in the "worst subject" category.

I'll hopefully catch onto something later. I really envy those "Oh-ever-since-I-was-3-years-old-I-was-natural-mathematician!-yeah!-homie!" types of people. I have nothing striking yet.
