Hi, I'm currently deciding between Duke and Cornell for ECE and/or CS. I was wondering if there were any detailed career reports for Duke's program like the ones they have for Cornell. I know many of Duke's engineering graduates work in other fields, like ibanking and consulting, but does anyone know if ECE/CS graduates get jobs at top firms like Google, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft? Thanks

Yes, they do. I-banking and consulting is much more prevalent among MEs that ECEs. Here’s a breakdown for ECEs:

[Where ECE Students Go | Duke Electrical and Computer Engineering](Where Our Students Go | Duke Electrical and Computer Engineering)

36% Software Development and IT
14% Product Development and Research
14% Consultant/Analyst
7% Investment Banking
21% Engineering grad school
7% Military

Snapshot of 2007 graduates:

Graduate School

* Stanford
- Yale
- Univ of Pittsburgh
- Northwestern
- Clemson
- Duke

Employers

* Lockheed Martin

Edit: It sounds like you already made up your mind going to Cornell since you requested housing there (based on your last post). Cornell is obviously a great program as well.

You can’t go wrong with Cornell engineering. Good luck

Just from my circle of friends, I know CS or ECE majors going to Facebook, Microsoft and Google. And there are def a lot more ECE kids that I haven’t met soo to answer your question: yeap! :)
