Career prospects?

<p>I couldn't gather enough information through my own research, but I was wondering how well respected UC Berkeley is on the east coast for decent to good job placements, especially in the NYC, DC and Boston area. Cal's very well respected of course in California, but I was wondering if it's a lot less competitive on the east-coast due to the plethora of great elite universities already present in its vicinity. I'm not talking about BB I-banking either, but just good jobs that are a good place to start and allows room for advancement into management positions, either working in the industry or in the government.</p>
