<p>Send in a freelance article to some newspaper. Use the money to buy a few hundred lottery tickets.</p>
<p>Seriously, 95% of writers make **** (under $45,000, avg. starting salary is around $25,000). 4.8% do okay ($75,000-150,000 as an in-demand freelancer or editor), and the remaining 0.3% do very well ($300,000+)--that 0.3% comprises of best-selling writers and screenwriters.</p>
<p>In other words--if you want money, change careers.</p>
