careless math mistakes

i find the math sections rather easy, but whenever i take a practice test, i seem to have missed at least 5 or 6 questions due to careless mistakes. I finish each section in about 2/3 the alloted time. How can i fix my mistakes?

Go back and reread the questions?

Get Kaplan's 2400. They go over how to isolate a 'hard' math problem, determine the most common careless errors, and immunize yourself to them.

be nervous during the real test is the best way to conquer careless mistakes.
I usually get 3-6 wrong on math when I do practice tests.
but because I was so nervous in the April SAT( I even used calculator to calculate 5+8=13) I got 800, not even one wrong.
my writing and reading were both the best I ever did too.

I also make a lot of careless math mistakes. I have a tendency to not read the problem and just do it, leave sections out, etc. I did great on the April Math (800) though.

I guess I'd just say don't go slow, but don't rush. Try to keep your focus on every problem, and think about what you're doing instead of just doing it. Which may be hard, but it works.

Also, you probably shouldn't listen to me.

take your time, i rushed through my math section and didnt go over my answers and didnt do too well on the math
