Hey guys, so here's the thing: I'm normally pretty good at math, but i got one major problem: careless stupid mistakes. And because of that my math SAT score is 700. ( CR-720, W-800) I was wondering whether my relatively low math score will lower my chances at Penn or will my high writing score make up for it? Also, i have a 710 in Math 1, if that is of any help.

What most high schoolers fail to realize is that there’s a certain threshold for the SAT, and above that, scores don’t matter! I’m in Penn now, btw.

Each section should roughly be around a 750 for you to be safe-This also depends on your ethnicity and other factors, but if you are not a minority applicant, a composite 2250 is solid, and generally regarded as the mark to have.

So retake, focus, and do well! It can be done-I went from a 2220 to a 2380, and haven’t looked back since!

Feel free to PM for further questions, and best wishes!
