Is there anyone from the east coast?
@oscarssnub actual intl applicant here
An actual real live applicant here as well!
@ultimom Thank you for answering. This is hard as a parent, it must be ten times harder for the students. Good luck to you all!
@justHere2001 I’m also international! Which country are u applying from?
@MizCracker hi!

Hi guys I’m also an international applicant too @justHere2001 @oscarssnub

@oscarssnub I’m applying from Nigeria. Nice to meet you!!
Friday at 8? Will the decisions be mailed on Friday or go out sooner than that?
@oscarssnub and @JovialIntrovert very cool! How did you each find out about Carleton?
@drewsmom17 google
@justHere2001 @oscarssnub @JovialIntrovert I’m international too!!
@catdreamer hi! where are u applying from?
@oscarssnub from Singapore:)
In another forum I heard folks discussing the impact of ED admissions and how schools are taking so many kids ED that the actual acceptance rate for RD is really low. I anticipate my dd is going to get rejected or waitlisted at her remaining schools, like Carleton, as a result. I hope I’m wrong.
@drewsmom17 I found out through my college counselor
@drewsmom17 I think decisions will be mailed a day before that and then uploaded on your portal on Friday
can anyone share the experience of applying into Carleton. I am an international student and I really love Carleton. Yet I am still confused if I ever have a chance for it. For background check,my GPA is about 3.7/4 and my highschool is one of the most prestigious in my country. My sat score 1500 and I am about to take that subject in may (us his, math ii). but I concern most with my extracu activities. I am focusing on writing part ( I am pretty good at it and I like the experience) but is that enough. I mean, compared to the students in my school, I am not the founder of any project/ club or participating in any so-called “cool” activities (like debate, MUN). I am lost and stressed out already so hope that you guys can help me. and good luck to all
side note: I am planning to financial aid/ schorlarship. I come from a middle income family and our family can only contri at most $20.000 a year so any advice on that?
You should contact the Carleton financial aid office for real information, however, I would wait until June 2019, as they are swamped with students who would be entering in 2019 right now. Carleton offers very few merit scholarships, only need-based aid and they tend not to be as generous as other similarly ranked college. It would depend on how the Carleton financial aid office views your family’s assets. For many of us, what a college thinks we can pay and what our families believe they can afford are pretty far apart. GOod luck.
@mrbhuis Usually Carleton accepts about 40% of its entering class from ED1 & ED2. This is a bit lower than many “top” colleges who accept 50% or greater of their entering class from early decision.Best of luck to all!
Does anyone know from past years, were letters received before the portal or does the portal update first before receiving letters
