Mediocre ECs, pretty good essays. Maybe too focused on computer science, my intended major (I mainly applied to big public colleges).
Pretty disappointed. This was the only LAC I applied to, which I regret now, but the more I learned about it after already submitting my application, the more I liked it.
@lopalo Carleton does not do merit aid - only need based besides their Strong and Fitch scholarships (these are special for people applying from smaller cities or middle class gap).
I received a lot in financial aid, around 50k. Will have to pay around 21k per year, which is not bad at all,.
Accepted! My first choice “major” is pre-med

Rejected. 1420 SAT. 4.0 WGPA. 9 APs/ Advanced classes total. Decent ECs. Really good CA essay. Couldn’t visit, but interviewed and thought it went well. Sucks of course, but congrats to all admitted! I’m sure all other rejected and waitlisted will find their place
DD was accepted. Kind of a relief after a tough week of WLs at Macalester, Oberlin, Bowdoin, Williams, Kenyon, Northwestern, etc. Almost feels like the advantage of applying to lots of schools is necessary to increase the odds of getting that one random acceptance.
35 ACT, 3.96 UW gpa, 800 Math SAT II, 15 AP/Honors/Advanced courses, excellent ECs, varsity athlete, all-state musician, team captain. Good fit with her academic interests.
